Summer Sunshine Warms a Winter's day

 Hello again!
It's ages since I blogged, so thought I'd best pop in to let you know I'm still here, tapping with red, stiff fingers today, as I've just been outside, collecting fallen sticks for kindling...

Winter is biting, and I found this pressed sprig of Linden the other day, when I was looking for something else... I remember I pressed it because of its ancient, elegant form... and because it held the summer sunshine within its flowers...

Years later, it reminds me of warmth, and light, and blossoms that are also medicine...

Wondering if other people do this sort of thing too... You know, just put something away because it has some sort of beauty for them... some sort of glamour... or evokes a feeling that's not an everyday thing... then forget about it... until years later, they are reminded of its intrinsic magic...

  1. Yes, I found a birds' nest the other day that I had tucked away long ago. It was so delicately made from spider web and lined with down. I just couldn't bring myself to leave it there on the ground. This time on finding it I let go and gifted it back to nature hoping that perhaps some of the material could be reused by another bird. It was hard to do though!

    1. Ahhh, that was kind of you, Keechy. I confess, I sit them up on my mantlepiece or my nature table, & admire them for ages! I even have some wren's nests stashed in a crystal cabinet! You show me not to be a hoarder! X
